A Stage 1 Preliminary Site Investigation involves a site visit and desktop study of past land uses with the objective to identify potential sources of contamination which could have lead to soil contamination or groundwater contamination. The aim is to form a conceptual site model of the site so that sources and sinks can be identified. The Stage 1 PSI can help determine whether a Stage 2 Detailed Site Investigations is required.
Deals with the issues raised in Stage I contamination investigations but provides a deeper understanding by outlining the type, extent and level of contamination. Earthwise Environmental will assess the potential risk of contamination to the local environmental and the general public and provide practical recommendations on how to move forward to the next stage of development. All work carried out in accordance with the National Environment Protection Measure (1999) as amended in 2013.
